The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE) in the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has recently published two discretionary research funding announcements titled “Early Care and Education Research Scholars: Head Start Graduate Student Research Grants” and “Early Care and Education Research Scholars: Child Care Research Scholars”, which are summarized below.
Offered by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), the Scholarship for Developmental, Child, and Family Psychology is intended for Ph.D. students at North American universities who are interested in acquiring quantitative skills in order to complete a dissertation within developmental, child, or family psychology. The scholarship provides a fee waiver to attend courses in one or both of the four-week sessions of the 2015 ICPSR Summer Program. The application deadline is April 30, 2015.
Child Development announces a call for papers for the special section Bringing Developmental Science into the World, with guest editors Roberta Michnick Golinkoff (University of Delaware), Kathy Hirsh-Pasek (Temple University), Rachel Grob (University of Wisconsin) and Mark Schlesinger (Yale University). This special section invites manuscripts that have studied innovative programs, daily activities, or special events for children and families using the lens of developmental science.
