Led by Oscar Barbarin and Richard Lerner, this project is being guided by a Steering Committee and implemented by the SRCD Office for Policy and Communications. The project aims to use developmental science to strengthen efforts to support the engagement and competence of children from diverse backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) studies and eventually careers. The initiative will both summarize the research evidence from developmental science that can inform STEM efforts and communicate this research to policymakers and practitioners. The work of this project will be coordinated with the work of a newly funded SRCD RFP grant on Leveraging Knowledge from Developmental Science for P-16 Educational Policy Reforms.
