Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development, is co-hosting a research conference and exposition this fall: The Second National Congress on Digital Media and Developing Minds, from October 15-18, 2018 at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory on Long Island, New York.

Children and Screens is an interdisciplinary nonprofit organization that seeks objective, scientific answers to questions about the cognitive, psychological, and physical impacts of digital media on toddlers, children, adolescents, their families, and communities. This year’s Congress will build on the tremendous success of our first congress, which was co-hosted with the National Academy of Sciences in Irvine, California.

Leaders in social science, medicine, neuroscience, education, computer science, public health and public policy (among others) will convene to present and discuss the latest research on a wide range of timely issues, including internet addiction, the effects of social media on mental health, using digital media to promote health, the impact of violent media, technology in schools, and more. This year features a new special Tools and Methodologies Exposition to showcase cutting-edge, emerging technologies that will help researchers stay up-to-date on the latest trends and tools available to advance their work.
