Linda P. Juang, Ph.D. announced as Editor of SRCD's Child Development Perspectives
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda P. Juang, Ph.D. as Editor of Child Development Perspectives.
Child Development Perspectives (CDP) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal that publishes brief articles on developmental science that are written in accessible language for a wide audience. CDP emphasizes brief, well synthesized reviews of research, but occasionally publishes essays on policy, statistics and methods, and other topics in developmental science.
Linda P. Juang, Ph.D., is a Professor of Inclusive Education at the University of Potsdam, Germany. Before her move to Germany, she was faculty in the U.S. at San Francisco State University for 11 years and at the University of California at Santa Barbara for three. She has served as an Associate Editor for Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology and Infant and Child Development and as an Assistant Editor for the Journal of Adolescence. Her research projects have been funded by the German Research Foundation, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, U.S. National Institutes of Health, and the European Social Fund. Her publications cover topics of ethnic-racialized identity, discrimination, family and school ethnic-racial socialization, and the well-being of adolescents and young adults. She has co-chaired the SRCD International Committee, is a member of the SRCD Asian Caucus, and is a past member of the Executive Council of the Society for Research on Adolescence. She has a B.A. degree in Child Development from the University of Minnesota and M.A. and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Michigan State University.
“Dr. Juang is an outstanding scholar with extensive editorial experience. Child Development Perspectives will be well-served by her vision to increase the journal’s international perspectives, while maintaining its status as a leading journal for high-quality, well-synthesized reviews of research and innovative conceptual work pertaining to pressing topics,” said Dr. Vonnie McLoyd, SRCD Governing Council President.
“I am very happy for the opportunity to continue where Interim Editor, Dr. Rebecca M. B. White, leaves off and serve as Editor for Child Development Perspectives. At a time when there is such a high research output, a journal such as CDP that publishes clear and concise reviews of emerging and established lines of research in developmental science for a broad audience, is more important than ever,” said Dr. Juang. “I look forward to working with the editorial board to continue and expand the journal’s commitment to synthesize a developmental science that is increasingly diverse and global.”
