Bio

Kelly (Kel) Fisher is SRCD’s Director for Policy. Dr. Fisher plays an integral role in strengthening bridges between developmental science and policy to improve the wellbeing of children and families. Prior to joining SRCD in 2019, she served as Executive Director of the Science of Learning Institute at Johns Hopkins University where she worked to foster innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to translating science into evidence-informed practices. Dr. Fisher is also a former SRCD U.S. Executive Branch Policy Fellow, where she worked to improve understanding of organizational capacity and data-driven decision-making in early childhood programs. Dr. Fisher received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Temple University. She also earned a M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and a B.S. in Psychology from Missouri State University.
