Description

Qi Wang is Joan K. and Irwin M. Jacobs Professor of Human Development at Cornell University. Her research examines the mechanisms underlying the development of a variety of cognitive and social-cognitive skills in the context of culture, focusing particularly on autobiographical memory and mental time travel. She has also pioneered research to examine the impact of the Internet and social media as a cultural force on memory reconstruction and the consequences for identity and psychosocial functioning. Wang is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Research in Memory and Cognition

Qing Zhou

Description

Qing Zhou is a Professor of Psychology and the Director of Culture and Family Study Lab at University of California Berkeley. Her research focuses on cultural, family, and temperament influences on children's executive functions, socio-emotional, and academic development from preschool to young adulthood. She and her collaborators have conducted longitudinal studies of Chinese children in Asia and children in Chinese and Mexican immigrant families in the U.S. Dr. Zhou currently serves as an Associate Editor of Developmental Psychology and a Consulting Editor of Child Development, Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, and British Journal of Developmental Psychology

Florrie Fei-Yin Ng

Description

Florrie Fei-Yin Ng is a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As a developmental psychologist, her research focuses on understanding the role of parents in children’s motivation and achievement in school, with emphasis on the influence of the sociocultural context. She has conducted a number of studies in China and the United States to examine how cultural values may shape parents’ cognitions and practices and thereby contribute to children’s academic and socioemotional functioning over time. She is an Associate Editor of Child Development and the Journal of Pacific Rim Psychology.
