2019 SRCD Biennial Awardees
SRCD is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 SRCD Biennial Awards! Join us in congratulating the distinguished awardees at the SRCD Member Meeting and Awards Ceremony, Thursday, March 21 beginning at 5:30 pm ET in the Ballroom on Level 400 of the Baltimore Convention Center.
2019 Biennial Travel Awards
Five types of travel awards are offered as a benefit for SRCD members to support attendance at the SRCD Biennial Meeting. Information about the awards and buttons to the application sites about the awards are below.
General Information
- Applicants may only apply for one travel award per Biennial
- Applicants must be a current SRCD member when applying and by the time of the 2019 Biennial (travel awards will be distributed at the Biennial).
- Travel awards may be used for Biennial-related expenses, as determined by the recipient. No proof of receipts is required.
- NOTE: The Biennial Meeting Program is presented in English.
Jacobs Foundation International Travel Awards
The Jacobs Foundation International Travel Awards, consisting of $1,500 USD each, are offered as a benefit for SRCD members to support attendance at the SRCD Biennial Meeting. There will be 20 Jacobs Foundation Travel Awards available for the 2019 Biennial.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be presenting as either a first author or a conversation roundtable participant on at least one accepted submission at the 2019 Biennial. High review ratings and/or a high number of accepted presenting roles will be given favorable consideration.
- Applicants must have a current Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) members with SRCD. Having more than one year of membership will be given favorable consideration.
- Applicants must be either a graduate student or early career professional (i.e. received their doctoral degree after January 1, 2014).
- Applicants must be a citizen of and reside in a low or middle income country, as defined by the World Bank.
SRCD International Travel Awards
The SRCD International Travel Awards, consisting of $1,000 USD each, are offered as a benefit for SRCD members to support attendance at the SRCD Biennial Meeting. There will be 10 SRCD International Travel Awards available for the 2019 Biennial.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be presenting as either a first author or a conversation roundtable participant on at least one accepted submission at the 2019 Biennial. High review ratings and/or a high number of accepted presenting roles will be given favorable consideration.
- Applicants must be current members of SRCD. Having more than one year of membership will be given favorable consideration.
- Applicants must be citizens of and reside in any country outside of the U.S. and Canada. Preference will be given to applicants from low and middle income countries as defined by the World Bank.
SRCD Graduate Student Travel Awards
The SRCD Graduate Student Travel Awards, consisting of $300 USD each, are offered as a benefit for SRCD members to support attendance at the SRCD Biennial Meeting. There will be 235 SRCD Graduate Student Travel Awards available for the 2019 Biennial.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be presenting as either a first author or a conversation roundtable participant on at least one accepted submission. High review ratings and/or a high number of accepted presenting roles will be given favorable consideration.
- Applicants must be current Graduate Student members of SRCD. Having more than one year of membership will be given favorable consideration.
- Applicants must not have received their doctoral degree by the time of the 2019 Biennial.
SRCD Early Career Travel Awards
The SRCD Early Career Travel Awards, consisting of $500 USD each, are offered as a benefit for SRCD members to support attendance at the SRCD Biennial Meeting. There will be 40 SRCD Early Career Travel Awards available for the 2019 Biennial.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be presenting as either a first author or a conversation roundtable participant on at least one accepted submission. High review ratings and/or a high number of accepted presenting roles will be given favorable consideration.
- Applicants must be current Early Career members (i.e. received their doctoral degree after January 1, 2014) of SRCD. Having more than one year of membership will be given favorable consideration.
Neimark Student Travel Awards
The SRCD Neimark Student Travel Awards, consisting of $500 USD each with a one-year membership to SRCD, are offered as a benefit for SRCD members to support attendance at the SRCD Biennial Meeting. This award is made possible by a generous endowment from Dr. Edith D. Neimark. There will be 4 SRCD Neimark Student Travel Awards available for the 2019 Biennial.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be current Undergraduate or Graduate Student members of SRCD.
- Applicants must not have received their doctoral degree by the time of the 2019 Biennial.
- Preference will be given to applicants who will be attending their first SRCD Biennial Meeting.
- Preference will be given to scholars who submitted to the general program, but acceptance is not a requirement.
- Financial need is a criterion for selection.
